THE PERSON BEHIND GAMERS HIDEOUT
Hi, I’m Ben.
I like making PCs make sense.
I’m Ben Irwin, a PC enthusiast studying BSc (Hons) Cyber Security with The Open University. I enjoy building computers, working through problems and helping others get more comfortable with their PCs.
MY BACKGROUND
From the road
to IT.
My working background is in HGV driving, and I’m making a career change into IT. Alongside my studies, my interest in computers has given me plenty of reasons to keep learning and trying things for myself.
Building PCs and helping people with computer problems are things I enjoy. Gamers Hideout brings that interest together with a simple aim: making troubleshooting easier to follow.
WHY I STARTED THIS
A clear next step
helps.
When a game crashes or a PC starts stuttering, it’s easy to jump between settings and lose track of what you’ve tried. I wanted to create guides that help you slow down, identify the symptom and test one change at a time.
That’s the approach behind Gamers Hideout: practical checks, plain language and a record of what helped. Start with the free checklist, then use the full workbook if you want a more structured route through your problem.
I’m still learning too. These are self-guided resources informed by my hands-on interests and official reference guidance. They don’t promise a particular FPS boost, a guaranteed repair or individual technical support.
